Since January 2015, in the Valencian Community: Alicante, Valencia and Castellón, it is mandatory to register the accommodations and properties for tourist use, including holiday rental houses, in the Registry of Businesses, Establishments and Tourist Professions of the Generalitat Valenciana (Registro de Empresas, Establecimientos y Profesiones Turísticas de la Generalitat Valenciana).
With the objective of offering the highest quality accommodation, homogeneity of criteria, and providing transparency to the holiday rental sector, the Spanish Association of Digital Temporary Rental Platforms (PAT), (constituted last June 2018), also requires as a prerequisite to the publication of the property, the registration number granted by the regulation of the Generalitat Valenciana.
This means that, to advertise your holiday rental properties, the portals dedicated to these activities, as well as specialized rental agencies, are demanding this mandatory registration prior to publication in their web pages, also requested by the Generalitat Valenciana.
With more than 40,000 holiday homes in the region, this procedure has as the common objective to inform the Valencian Tourist Administration of any circumstance that affects the use of a tourist home: start or stop of the rental activity, and any modification of rentals: changes of classification, capacity, ownership, denomination, period of operation or any other.
The process is simple, the owner has to complete the Responsibility Communication / Declaration Form. This Form must be presented via web page through the Tourism the Generalitat Valenciana, if the owner has a digital certificate; or in person to the General Administration of the State of the Valencian Community at any of the following offices:
- Alicante: Registro del Servicio Territorial de Turismo. Calle Churruca 29, 3 floor, 03003 (Alicante).
- Castellón: Registro del Servicio Territorial de Turismo. Avenida Hermanos Bou 47, 12003 (Castellón de la Plana).
- Valencia: Registro del Servicio Territorial de Turismo. Plaza Alfonso el Magnánimo 15, plant 2, 46003 (Valencia).
